It’s a promising virtue of consciousness but the reality is rarely a practical pursuit considering the irony. Life is conceived through attachments only; as ‘nothing should own you’ it is totally relevant in our final dying experience. When we’re prepared to fully concede the actual thought of dying we become proficiently well versed with the reality of detachment. Like it or not, accept it or not, in dying and death all of us own nothing.
